Banking Safety Tips
- Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Conceal money before leaving the bank. Never openly carry bank bags, envelopes or coin boxes.
- It is always best to use the buddy system when going to the bank (do not go alone).
- Do not wear clothing that identifies you as an employee (no company logos, uniforms or badges).
- Be aware of anyone following you from the area of a bank.
- Do not leave or try to hide your bank bag or bank envelope in your vehicle when you exit at your next destination, even if it’s your residence.
- If you suspect you are being followed, call 911 from your cell phone, and keep the dispatcher informed of your location, and the direction you are traveling.
- Drive toward the police station until marked police cars are able to locate you.

How We Protect You
Fraud Prevention & Travel
As an added safeguard, we monitor your account for fraudulent activity and will notify you if we suspect any criminal activity. If you plan to travel, domestically or internationally, we ask that you inform a member service representative, via phone or Live Chat, of your travel plans and we'll make a note on your account so our team won't flag it for suspicious activity. Let's say you're in Seattle on vacation. If our monitor team didn't know of your plans, they could put a hold on your card once they see transactions come in from Seattle. We want to be sure that your account is as secure as possible. To inform us of your travel plans, call 1-800-622-3631 or hop on Live Chat. To cut down on your wait time, choose the "call back" option when it's offered.
Secure Member Profiles
We provide all members with a unique username for online banking. The username that we provide cannot be changed by any entity other than NavyArmy. You will have to answer several security questions that serve as added protection for your information.
NavyArmy regularly conducts assessments to uncover potential threats to the confidentiality of your information. All policies and procedures are updated according to the outcome of these risk assessments. We upgrade security measures to cover all identified potential risks. All employees are trained to recognize and respond to any unauthorized or fraudulent attempts to obtain your information.
Secure NavyArmy Server
Our Online Banking server is not directly connected to the internet. The data that is transmitted to and from the server must first pass through a firewall. A firewall is a hardware or software device that monitors network traffic and blocks inappropriate connections to other computers on a network.

How to Protect Yourself
Lost/Stolen Debit Card
Immediately call 1-800-622-3631 to report a lost or stolen debit card. Always notify law enforcement authorities of any criminal act related to the claim of lost, missing, or stolen checks or unauthorized withdrawals.
Statements are a valuable tool to help prevent fraudulent or mistaken transfers. Your statement will show the transactions that occurred in connection with your account during the statement period. Use online banking to frequently monitor account activity in between statements. You should never discuss or reveal any of your account information to an outside party unless you intend for that person to have access to and control of your account. Always keep your checkbook and debit card in a safe place. Carry as little personal information with you as possible (Social Security card, checks, etc) as they can be collected and used for fraudulent activity. Memorize your PIN (personal identification number) and do not give it to anyone else. It is recommended that you change your PIN every six months.
Phishing is the act of posing as a legitimate entity in order to acquire financial information from an online account holder. NavyArmy will never ask for your account information via email. Immediately report any suspicious messages and do not click any links in spam messages.
Make sure that your mobile banking app and personal devices are updated with the latest software. This ensures that you are protected by updated security measures. Use passcodes on all of your devices.
It is your responsibility to protect the account numbers and electronic access devices (e.g., an ATM card) we provide you for your account(s). It is best to not write down any of your information, but if you must, assure that it is stored in a safe and secure location (i.e., not on your device). Always log out after using online banking via web browser or app.
