NavyArmy Community Credit Union Assumes County & Municipal Employees Credit Union Accounts

Edinburg, Texas (10/10/14)—Navy Army Community Credit Union (NavyArmy) has assumed accounts from the recently liquidated County & Municipal Employees Credit Union (CMECU) of Edinburg, Texas.  Earlier today, the Texas Credit Union Department liquidated CMECU and named the National Credit Union Administration as liquidating agent.

NavyArmy immediately assumed CMECU’s members, assets, and shares.  “NavyArmy is happy to welcome this credit union and its members in this time of need.  We will strive to ensure that there is as little interruption of service as possible,” said Sarah O’Brien, President/CEO of Navy Army Community Credit Union of Corpus Christi, Texas.  NavyArmy is a federally insured, state-chartered credit union with assets of $2.1 billion and 131,990 members in South Texas and Rio Grande Valley.

CMECU members with questions about share accounts should contact NavyArmy Member Services at 800-622-3631, Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. The Member Services Call Center will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 in observance of Columbus Day.
